Several gang members have been handed hefty prison sentences at Reading Crown Court today (Friday 21 November) over a string of violent crimes in Watford last summer that shocked the community.
Teen Stabber Gets Six Years
Marcel Gordon, 19, from Garsmouth Way, Watford, was slammed with six years behind bars after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. The case stems from a chilling attack on 23 July 2024 inside Maeme’s chicken shop where a man in his 20s was seriously stabbed.
Gunfire Chaos on the A41
The violence didn’t stop there. On 25 July, a wild disturbance broke out in Meriden Way park at around 3.30pm. Just hours later at 5.20pm, a man on an e-bike travelling south on the A41 was caught up in a terrifying shootout with passengers in a black BMW. The victim was shot and rushed to hospital in critical condition but has thankfully made a full recovery.
Youth Behind Gun Gets Seven Years
A 17-year-old Watford boy caught as a passenger in the BMW was convicted of GBH with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was acquitted of attempted murder but still sentenced to seven years behind bars.
Driver Faces Attempted Murder Charge
The driver, 27-year-old Hekmat Galmne from Village Way, Pinner, was found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm intending to endanger life. He allegedly fired the fatal shot and awaits sentencing on 13 February 2026.
Retaliation Rider Gets 10 Years
Carlito Dujon, 21, from Dodd Road, Watford, picked up a massive 10-year sentence for three offences including possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and carrying a bladed weapon. He was behind a retaliation shot fired from a separate e-bike on the same day.
Violent Disorder Sentences Add Up
Gordon, also convicted of violent disorder at Meriden Way park, received an additional 18 months. He’s now serving a total of seven and a half years. Desmond Bonato, 20, from Raphael Drive, Watford, got 18 months earlier after pleading guilty to violent disorder.
This fierce crackdown sends a clear message: Watford’s gang violence won’t be tolerated.
