A 16-year-old boy from Slough has died following a motorbike crash outside the Liquid Leisure Centre in Datchet on Saturday, October 19. The incident, which occurred at 4:07 PM on Horton Road, left both the boy and another 16-year-old male rider seriously injured. Thames Valley Police officers arrived at the scene and transported both teens to the hospital. Sadly, one of the boys succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, October 20. His family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained family liaison officers.

Thames Valley Police initially received conflicting reports about the crash, with some suggesting that a bus was involved or that there had been a police chase. Detective Inspector Stuart May of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit clarified that these rumours were false. However, further investigation revealed that a car might have been involved.

A 56-year-old man from Datchet has been arrested. He was initially detained on suspicion of drink-driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Following further inquiries, he was re-arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector May extended his condolences to the victims’ families, stating, “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the families and friends of the two victims, one of whom sadly died in hospital this afternoon.”

Authorities urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash to come forward and assist in the investigation.
