Emergency services responded to reports of a person being struck by a train between Canterbury and Ramsgate on Thursday evening, 13 March 2025.

Southeastern Railway confirmed that the incident occurred between Canterbury West and Ramsgate, forcing a suspension of rail services in the area. Trains are currently unable to operate on the affected line, and alternative routes via Dover are being utilized where possible.

A spokesperson for Southeastern said: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Canterbury West and Ramsgate. While emergency services attend the scene, no trains can run through Canterbury West. Some services will be diverted via Dover.”

Commuters have been advised that replacement bus routes are available, and tickets will be valid on these alternative services.

Emergency services remain at the scene, and further details are awaited.
