A 73-year-old man has tragically died following a serious collision involving a bus and two cars on Brighton Road, Woodmancote, on Tuesday morning (March 4).

Emergency services were called to the scene at 11:38 am after reports of a collision between a car and a bus. The impact caused the car to veer further along Brighton Road, where it was involved in a second collision with another vehicle.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the driver— a local man— was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 63-year-old woman from Henfield, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no passengers on the bus were injured.

Sussex Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward. Those who may have seen the incident or captured footage are asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Copland.
