Police have launched an investigation following a report of a stabbing at Dagenham Heathway Underground station on the evening of Tuesday, 16 July 2025.

Officers from the British Transport Police were called shortly after 9:25pm following a report of a stabbing at the station. Upon arrival, they carried out a thorough search of the area.

However, no victim or suspect was located at the scene.

A Transport for London (TfL) spokesperson confirmed that the station was closed at 9:50pm at the request of police, and remained shut for the rest of the evening.

“Officers attended and conducted a thorough search of the area but could not locate a victim or anyone else involved,” said a spokesperson for the British Transport Police.
“An investigation is now underway.”


Appeal for Information

Police are urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward.

The station has since reopened as normal, and services were not impacted the following morning.
