Cold-Blooded Attack on Railway Platform
An “utterly callous” asylum seeker has been found guilty of murder after a brutal stabbing spree on a railway station platform. Deng Chol Majek plunged a knife into hotel worker Rhiannon Whyte 23 times, leaving her fatally wounded. The chilling attack took place less than three months after Majek arrived in the UK by small boat.
No Remorse in the Dock
Majek showed no emotion as the guilty verdict was handed down. During the trial, he was accused of lying about his age, claiming to be 19. However, authorities had recorded his date of birth as making him 27 during a failed asylum claim in Germany.
