Arrest Made After Alleged Sexual Assault on Qatar to Gatwick Flight

A 65-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault after an alleged incident on an international flight from Doha, Qatar, to Gatwick Airport, Crawley.

Officers were called at 4:53 am on Saturday, 28 September, following reports that a woman in her 20s had been sexually assaulted while she was asleep during the flight.

The suspect, Momade Jussab, from Feltham, Hounslow, was arrested upon the plane’s arrival at Gatwick. Following a police investigation, Jussab has now been formally charged with sexual assault and remanded in custody.

Jussab is scheduled to appear before Lewes Crown Court on 28 October to answer the charges.

Detective Inspector Darren Taylor, who is overseeing the case, emphasised the gravity of the situation. He stated, “This incident must have been extremely traumatic for the victim, and she is being supported by specialist officers. Our team worked hard to secure a charge and remand for this sexual assault, which shows our zero tolerance and robust stance on sexual violence.”

The victim is receiving ongoing support from specialist officers as the case progresses. Police have reiterated their commitment to addressing sexual violence and ensuring that such incidents are taken seriously.

Jussab remains in custody until his court appearance later this month. Authorities have expressed their commitment to a thorough investigation, vowing to ensure that justice is served.
