A woman has been charged with the murder of another woman following a fatal stabbing in Tower Hamlets.
Hope Rowe, 32, of Piazza Walk, E1, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. She is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Police were called to a block of flats on Duckett Street, E1, at approximately 1.17am on Sunday, 15 September, after receiving reports of a woman suffering from stab injuries in the foyer. Emergency services attended the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
While formal identification is pending, police are confident that the victim is Charlotte Lawler, 31. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail as investigations continue.
A crime scene remains in place at the address as police work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
