Woman Arrested and Dog Seized After Series of Attacks in Swindon

A woman has been arrested and a dog seized following a string of disturbing dog attacks in Swindon.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that a 33-year-old woman was arrested today (8 May) on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control under Section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act. She remains in custody for questioning.

The incidents involve separate attacks in the Moredon area — two assaults on other dogs and a person on April 11 and April 26, resulting in injuries, as well as the fatal mauling of a cat on May 3.

The dog linked to the incidents has now been seized by police.

PC Sam Young of the Swindon Local Policing Tasking Team said:

We appreciate the significant amount of public concern around this dog following multiple incidents, and I can confirm it has been seized.
I’d also like to thank everyone who contacted us after our public appeal, which led to today’s arrest. She will now be questioned in connection with the incidents.”

Investigations are ongoing, and Wiltshire Police continue to urge anyone with further information to come forward.
