Wiltshire Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Death at Foxhill Motocross Event

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following the tragic death of Lee Starr at a motocross event near Wanborough. The incident occurred in the Stubble Field at Foxhill motocross on the evening of Thursday, 22 August 2024.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 9:15 pm after reports that a man in his 30s had been assaulted and sustained significant injuries. Lee Starr was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol but sadly passed away on Sunday, 25 August.

Ben Starr, 34, of Woodside Avenue, Ripley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the incident. He appeared in court on Saturday, 31 August, and has been released on court bail pending his next appearance at Swindon Crown Court on 27 September.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker from the Major Crime Investigation Team stated, “Our thoughts are with Lee’s family at this difficult time, and they are being supported by specialist officers. This was a busy event, and we believe many people may have witnessed the incident.
