Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary at the Co-Op store on Conway Road, Chippenham, in the early hours of August 22.
Three men forced entry into the store at approximately 2.04am and headed straight for the tills, where they proceeded to smash open the cash boxes. They left the scene with three cash boxes before officers arrived.
PC Josh Pullin, leading the investigation, said, “Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident was reported, and it appears to be part of a national series of burglaries specifically targeting Co-Op stores.
Officers have conducted extensive house-to-house enquiries and reviewed local CCTV footage. However, PC Pullin emphasized that there may still be local residents who have yet to be contacted by police.
“If you have any information about the incident or any doorbell or CCTV footage that could assist in our investigation, we urge you to get in touch,” said PC Pullin.
Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting the crime reference number 54240098864. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via CrimeStoppers at 0800 555 111.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are hopeful that further community support will help bring those responsible to justice.
