Urgent Manhunt: Public Warned Not to Approach Absconded Prisoner

Derbyshire Police have issued an urgent warning to the public, advising them not to approach a prisoner with known links to North London who recently absconded from custody. A manhunt is now underway to locate Frankie Michael O’Leary, 26, who managed to leave the prison facility at approximately 5:30 pm on Friday, January 12.

O’Leary was serving a sentence of seven years and ten months for Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with intent, a conviction dating back to 2021. He is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown hair that is shorter on the sides and longer on top. He has a slight build and striking blue eyes.

At the time of his escape, O’Leary was wearing black Under Armour tracksuit bottoms, a black puffa jacket, and white and grey Nike trainers.

Authorities have identified several areas where O’Leary has known connections, including:

  • North London, specifically Tottenham, Haringey, Finsbury Park, North Finchley, and Hornsey.
  • Bedfordshire, particularly the Biggleswade area.
  • Dorset, with ties to the Poole area.
  • Hampshire, where he has connections in the Lymington area.
  • North Wales, specifically Llandudno.
  • Brighton and Hove.
  • Northampton, particularly the Blackthorn area.
  • Cambridgeshire, with connections in the Bedford area.
  • Wiltshire, specifically the Swindon area.

Members of the public are strongly urged not to approach O’Leary if they encounter him. Instead, they are asked to immediately contact the police and provide information related to his whereabouts. When reporting, reference the Derbyshire Police case number 1190-120124.

The authorities are actively pursuing leads and conducting a comprehensive search to locate and apprehend Frankie Michael O’Leary. Public cooperation and vigilance are crucial in assisting law enforcement with this ongoing manhunt.
