Teenager accused of stabbing Ellie Gould remanded

The 17-year-old boy charged with the murder of schoolgirl Ellie Gould appeared in Salisbury Magistrate’s Court this morning via video link from Melksham police station . The boy who cannot be named for legal reasons was arrested on Friday afternoon following the discovery of Ellie Gould’s body at her home in Springfield Drive. Police have confirmed that Ellie died as a result of stab wounds. Paramedics attending the scene had fought to save Ellie but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Ambulance staff called police to the scene at approximately 3.15pm and shortly afterwards a 17 year old boy was arrested in the Derry Hill area. Appearing in court today, no plea was entered and he has been remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday 9 May. A statement from Wiltshire Police reads: We would like to continue to stress the importance of not speculating or commenting publicly on anything to do with this investigation.
