A man has been seriously injured in Bemerton Heath, Salisbury, after being struck by a car in a targeted hit-and-run, Wiltshire Police have confirmed.
The shocking incident occurred at around 5.45pm on Saturday, 10 May, on Pinewood Close, when a blue Ford Fiesta, driven dangerously, mounted the pavement and hit a pedestrian in his 40s.
Arrest Made — Car Still Missing
Police have arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody at this time.
The vehicle — described as an 09-plated blue Ford Fiesta — is still missing and is believed to have been abandoned locally. Officers say it may have visible damage to the front bumper.
Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage Sought
Detective Sergeant Matthew Goldring of South CID said:
“This was a targeted incident in broad daylight. The victim remains in hospital with serious leg injuries.
We’ve made an arrest but are still urgently trying to trace the vehicle involved.”
Police are urging anyone who may have seen the car before or after the incident, or who may have dash cam footage, to come forward.
