Police Appeal For Witnesses And Footage Following Armed Robbery In Alderley Edge

Cheshire Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses and video footage following a harrowing armed robbery at a residence in Alderley Edge.

The distressing incident unfolded at approximately 00.15 on Sunday, 10 September. Two men had just returned home after a night out when they encountered two unknown individuals wearing face coverings and dressed in black clothing on Heyes Lane.

In a frightening turn of events, the offenders chased the two men down the street, resulting in one of the victims, a 39-year-old man, falling to the ground. Shockingly, he was then struck on the head with a machete. The assailants forcibly took the victim’s jewellery before swiftly fleeing the scene.

The victim, suffering from serious facial injuries and a laceration to his head, is currently hospitalised and receiving treatment for his injuries.

Descriptions of the offenders have been provided; they are reported to be approximately 6 feet tall with slim builds, and they spoke with local Cheshire/Manchester accents.

The investigation into this deeply distressing incident is ongoing, and detectives are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in identifying those responsible. Detective Inspector Victoria Shelton expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, “This was a terrifying incident that left both victims extremely shaken up, and I would like to reassure residents that we are doing everything we can to establish the identities of those involved so that they can be brought to justice.”

To bolster security in the area, there will be an increased police presence, and residents with concerns are encouraged to speak to officers.

Detective Inspector Shelton also implored anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward. Additionally, she urged individuals with potential CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist the investigation to reach out.

Members of the public who possess relevant information or footage can contact Cheshire Constabulary online via their website or call 101, quoting IML 1641459. For those who wish to remain anonymous, information can also be shared with Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
