Brighton and Hove police are hunting witnesses after a racially aggravated attack on a 26 bus along Ditchling Road.

The ugly scene unfolded on Friday, 3 October, around 4:35pm. A man hurled verbal abuse at a woman before a heated tussle erupted between him and a fellow passenger.

Bus Brawl Ends with Suspect Dragged Off

Two men stepped in to physically oust the suspect at the Prince’s Crescent bus stop, just across from the Roundhill pub. In the chaos, red paint was sprayed both inside and outside the bus.

Suspect Description – Police Urge Public to Help

  • Height: About 5’7”
  • Age: Between 55 and 60
  • Clothing: Beige baseball cap, blue coat, carrying a rucksack

The man fled before cops arrived.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are following several leads and urge anyone who saw the incident or has CCTV footage to step forward.
