Man in His 60s Dies in Early Morning House Fire in Purton, Wiltshire

 

A man in his 60s has tragically died following a house fire in the village of Purton, near Swindon, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident on The Pry, Purton, shortly before 4am on 21 June, after reports of a fire engulfing a residential property. Fire crews entered the building and removed the man, who was the sole occupant, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite medical efforts.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Wiltshire Police have expressed condolences, saying, “Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”

The fire service and Wiltshire Police have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains under examination.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area overnight to get in touch.
