Inspector Katy Duncan extended sympathies to the Parry family and thanked all involved in the search efforts. Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team, among others, assisted in the operation.

The father and son were experienced hillwalkers, according to Glencoe Mountain Rescue, who expressed deep sadness over the outcome.

Friends and colleagues also mourned the loss of Tom and Richie. Bart Seaton-Said, a childhood friend of Tom’s, fondly remembered their shared experiences growing up in Ipswich, highlighting Tom’s heroic and sensitive nature. Nigel Howle, a former colleague, described Tom as kind and knowledgeable in his field of market research.

The tragic incident has deeply affected the community, reminding all of the inherent risks associated with outdoor activities. As the Parry family grieves their loss, they are comforted by the outpouring of support from loved ones and strangers alike. Tom and Richie will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as investigations into the incident continue.
