A man has been sentenced for stealing metal worth £600 from a property in Rowde, following a swift investigation by Wiltshire Police.
Matthew Pike, 40, of Anzio Road, Devizes, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on December 13, where he was sentenced for non-dwelling burglary.
The Incident
On November 8, police were alerted after cameras on the property recorded the theft in progress. The footage, reported by a third party, helped officers identify and arrest Pike shortly after the incident.
Pike admitted to stealing lead worth £600, taken from the property, during police questioning.
Court Sentencing
Salisbury Magistrates’ Court handed Pike a three-month prison sentence, which has been suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay:
- £85 in Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) costs
- A £154 victim surcharge
