Dectecives granted more time to question Totton Murder suspects

Detectives investigating the death of a 26-year-old man following a serious assault in Totton continue to question a 19-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The incident happened at 7.45pm at a home on Salisbury Road on Saturday 25 August. Specialist officers continue to support the man’s family. Today, (August 27) detectives continue to question a 19-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder suffered a medical episode after he was arrested and is being treated in hospital. Detectives investigating the murder are looking to question him as soon as he is discharged. A 42-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have since been released from police custody but remain under investigation. Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Matt Reeves said: “ “I know there may be some concern among the wider Totton community about this incident. Our officers and staff will be doing all they can to provide reassurance, but please do get in touch if you have any concerns. “The investigation is ongoing and we would ask if you have any information that could help, please do get in contact.”
