Detectives in Liverpool are seeking public assistance after a 16-year-old girl was raped in the city centre, prompting the release of CCTV images of a man believed to have information relevant to the investigation.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 am on Friday, April 12, in St John’s Gardens. Upon responding to the scene, officers discovered the teenage victim, who had been assaulted by an unidentified assailant.
The victim is currently receiving support from specially trained officers as the investigation progresses.

Detective Inspector Carla Cross stressed the importance of public cooperation, stating, “Our enquiries remain ongoing, and we have issued CCTV images of a man we believe could assist us. We would encourage the man, or anyone who recognizes him, to contact us as a matter of urgency.
Ensuring the safety of those in Liverpool city centre is a top priority, and Detective Inspector Cross expressed hope that increased police visibility would contribute to public reassurance.
She urged individuals to report any suspicious or unusual activity promptly to enable law enforcement to take immediate action.
