15-Year Sentence for Aaron Kendall’s Sexual Offences in Shrewsbury Court

Aaron Kendall, a resident of Furlong Green in Lightmoor, received a 15-year prison sentence on Friday at Shrewsbury Crown Court for committing 15 counts of sexual offences against a girl under the age of 13. The disturbing case came to light as Kendall pleaded guilty in October 2023 to charges involving assault, penetration, and rape.

The charges against Kendall included four counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, three counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration with a body part or an object, three counts of raping a girl under 13, and five counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 while being over 18.

Kendall’s arrest occurred approximately 20 minutes after the victim reported the crimes to the police. Subsequently, he was charged with offences that transpired between 2018 and 2023.

Detective Constable Izzy Broxton expressed the harrowing nature of the case, emphasizing the profound and likely lifelong trauma inflicted upon the child. While acknowledging the gravity of the sentence, DC Broxton acknowledged that no sentence could fully provide justice for the survivor and their family.

Despite the challenging circumstances, DC Broxton commended the unwavering determination and bravery demonstrated by the victim and their family throughout the investigation. She expressed hope that they can now begin the process of moving forward.

In addition to the 15-year prison term, Kendall received a 20-year sexual harm prevention order, a 20-year restraining order against the victim, and will remain on the sex offenders register until further notice.

Individuals with information or cases of rape or sexual assault are encouraged to report to the West Mercia Police via their website. In emergencies, always call 999. The police underscore the importance of providing support and assistance to survivors of such traumatic incidents.
