Michael McDonagh, 32, of Henleaze Road, Bristol, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was arrested on Friday (01/10), subsequently charged and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court this morning (04/10).
The charges relate to a serious assault at Southwick Sports and Social Club on Wednesday evening (29/09).
The victim, a man in his 30s, has since been discharged from the hospital.
