A busy road in Swindon has been closed this evening as firefighters tackle a significant house fire.

Emergency services were called to Groundwell Road at around 5pm today (Friday), following reports that a property was ablaze. It is understood the house is well alight, with multiple fire crews currently at the scene working to bring the fire under control.

The road has been closed in both directions between York Road and Victoria Road/Regent Circus, causing disruption to traffic in the area.
