A woman has been charged following an incident in which a three-year-old girl was bitten by a dog in Rainham last week.

Kent Police were called to Mierscourt Road at around 3:30pm on Tuesday, 17 June, after reports that a child had been injured in a dog attack. The toddler was taken to a London hospital with injuries to her arm. She has since been discharged following treatment.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a suspect in connection with the incident on Monday, 23 June. A dog believed to be a Cockapoo was also seized by authorities.

On the same day, Tracie Inkpen, aged 50, of Broadview Avenue, Gillingham, was charged with being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

Ms Inkpen has been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Kent Police confirmed that enquiries remain ongoing.
