A  26-year-old man has been charged in connection with an ongoing murder investigation in Walton-on-Thames.

Shaan Mir, of Arlington Lodge in Weybridge, has been charged with murder and attempt murder after being arrested on Thursday (22 April). He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Matthew Tester, 49, locally known as Tik, died at the scene after officers were called to reports of an incident on Church Road on Thursday (22 April). The second victim, also in his 40s, received hospital treatment and is recovering from serious injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector David Springett who is leading the investigation said: “This is an extremely difficult time for Tik’s family and I would ask that their privacy is respected to allow them to grieve in peace.”
