Sussex Police have issued a renewed appeal to locate Jack Tyler, 28, who escaped from Hove Crown Court during a hearing on September 8, where he was due to face charges of burglary and affray.

Tyler, originally arrested in August, had been remanded in custody pending trial. However, during his court appearance, he fled from court custody, sparking an immediate police response.

Extensive Search Launched

Officers conducted extensive searches in and around the Hove area following the escape, but Tyler has so far evaded capture. Enquiries remain ongoing, and authorities continue to seek the public’s help.

As part of the manhunt, a £1,000 reward is now being offered for any information that leads to Tyler’s arrest and conviction.

Description and Known Locations

Jack Tyler is described as:

  • 5ft 4in tall

  • Stocky build

  • Dark, shaved hair

He is known to have strong links to the Hastings area, and police believe he may be hiding there or using local contacts to avoid detection.

Public Appeal

A Sussex Police spokesperson said:

“We are doing everything possible to locate Jack Tyler and are asking the public to help us bring him back into custody. He is facing serious charges and must answer to the court.”

Anyone who sees Tyler or has information about his whereabouts is urged not to approach him, but instead to contact police immediately.
