A man who today, Friday, 23 October, appeared at court in relation to a number of charges has had an additional charge of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, added to his indictment.

Cavan Medlock, 27 of north-west London, was charged on Tuesday, 8 September with:

– possession of a bladed article in a public place;
– threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place;
– racially aggravated public order;
– ABH;
– making threats to kill;

He appeared via virtual court and was remanded in custody to appear at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday, 7 October.

He was subsequently further remanded to appear at the Old Bailey today, where he was further charged as above.

He has been remanded in custody to appear again at the Old Bailey for a plea and case management hearing on a date yet to be set.

A provisional trial date has been set for 17 May 2021.
