A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with a shooting that took place in Waltham Abbey last Sunday.

The suspect, identified as Hamidreza Nasiri, of Enfield, was formally charged following an investigation into the incident. Details of the shooting, which sent shockwaves through the local community, have not yet been fully disclosed, but police have confirmed that it posed a significant risk to public safety.

Nasiri has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his next court appearance at Basildon Crown Court in January.
