Man charged in connection with alleged assault in Hoxton
Following a police appeal, Omar Mehmoul, 31 of Chatsworth House, Hayes was arrested on Monday, 13 April by detectives from the Central East Command Unit.
He was subsequently charged on Tuesday, 14 April with assault with intent to commit rape under section 62 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
He was kept in custody to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court that same day.
He was released on bail to appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 13 May.
The charge relates to the alleged assault of a woman in Hoxton Street at 5.45am on Saturday, 7 March.
