Leicestershire Police have arrested and charged a 50-year-old man following a terrifying spree of house fires in Ashby on Friday morning, 21 November.
Dangerous Driving and Arson Charges Laid
The suspect faces serious allegations including dangerous driving and three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. The three fire scenes are linked and took place on Holywell Avenue, Prestop Drive, and Clifton Drive.
Victims Hospitalised but Injuries Not Life-Threatening
Three people – two teenagers and a woman – were rushed to hospital. One teen suffered burns and smoke inhalation. The other two were treated for smoke inhalation. Thankfully, all injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Court Hearing
The accused has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 November.
