Elderly Man Injured in Pavement Row with Cyclist – Police Appeal for Witnesses

Kent Police are appealing for information after a man in his 70s was assaulted and left with facial injuries in Folkestone.

The incident occurred at approximately 7.30am on Thursday 26 June 2025 as the man walked along North Road, between Pond Hill Road and Royal Military Avenue. According to reports, the victim challenged a cyclist riding on the pavement. As he continued walking, he was pushed from behind, causing him to fall into a fence post.

The victim sustained facial bruising and other injuries, for which he required hospital treatment.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, of slim build, and potentially wearing a jacket. He was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident.

Kent Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
