Young protesters cause traffic chaos outside Barclays in Reading

Young protesters sat outside a bank and blocked a road demanding the Government take action on climate change this afternoon in the centre of Reading. The Youth Strike for Climate Action took to the streets of Reading on Friday, gathering at the Broad Street Mall before marching down Broad Street and planting themselves outside Barclays bank, Jackson’s Corner which has been criticised for funding fossil fuel projects.   Angry students shouted for “climate action now”, claiming the Government isn’t taking the issue seriously enough. Many drivers hooted in support of the protest whilst others didn’t. Local and District bus services were seriously affected after being caught up in the jams.
