A young man has lost his life after being hit by a lorry on the A429 Bristol Road in Cirencester last night.
Fatal Collision Near Waitrose
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the Waitrose store at around 9.45pm on Friday, 17 October. The 19-year-old pedestrian was struck by a lorry and sadly died at the scene.
The road stayed closed until about 1pm today (Saturday) as police conducted a full forensic investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Gloucestershire Constabulary released a statement: “The man, aged 19, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.
The closures on Bristol Road have now been lifted and officers would like to thank the public for their patience while they were in place.
Investigating officers are appealing for anyone travelling along the A429 between Cirencester Fire Station and Cirencester Hospital roundabouts at approximately 9.30pm last night, who may have seen a pedestrian in or near the carriageway, to come forward.
