Yacht runs aground on Ryde Sands

The yacht ‘Golden Key’ has ran aground causing it to call the coastguard after being stuck on a Ryde sandbank having been caught out by a falling tide. The call was made to the UK coastguard just after 1pm on Monday afternoon. The call sparked the response of the Bembridge coastguard search and rescue team who are over seeing the incident on behalf of the UK coastguard. Those onboard are said to be in good spirits and well. The small yacht is likely to remain trapped on sandbank for several hours until the next high tide.
