Woolwich House Cordoned Off Following Fatal Stabbing of Teenage Boy

A house on Eglinton Road in Woolwich has been cordoned off by police following the tragic fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy on Sunday evening.

The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at approximately 6.35pm on September 22, where they found the teenage victim suffering from a stab wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the boy sadly died at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.

Local residents have expressed their shock and sorrow over the incident. One woman, aged 43, described the victim as “the most polite boy,” recalling how she saw him and his friends dancing to a TikTok song just days before the fatal attack. Though she didn’t know him well, she mentioned he was always respectful and polite whenever they crossed paths.

Another local resident shared the terrifying moment when her children witnessed the attack. “My kids started screaming; they saw men with knives,” she said. Along with another woman, she tried to help the injured boy but was unable to save him.

She described the chaotic scene, recalling the weapon used in the attack, which she said was the size of her son’s leg. Expressing frustration, she revealed that the community had previously requested CCTV from the local council, but their concerns had been ignored. Now, she worries for the safety of the neighbourhood’s children, fearing such incidents will happen again.

As investigations continue, a police officer remains stationed outside the house on Eglinton Road. A crime scene is in place, and officers are urging anyone with information about the stabbing to come forward.

No arrests have been made so far, and police are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference CAD 5989/22Sep.

This tragic incident has left the Woolwich community in mourning, as residents come to terms with the loss of a young life in such violent circumstances.
