Woman Suffers Life-Changing Injuries in City of London Collision

London emergency services have dealt with a series of serious incidents across the capital in the past 48 hours, ranging from a firearm arrest at Elm Park Underground station to a fall from height in the City.

Firearm Incident at Elm Park Station

British Transport Police confirmed they were called just after 7am on Wednesday, 19 June, to reports of a man in possession of a firearm at Elm Park Underground station.

A spokesperson said:

“Officers attended, and a 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and taken into custody.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Woman Suffers Life-Changing Injuries in City of London Collision

Later the same day, at 10.30pm, emergency services were called to a collision involving a scooter and a cyclist at the junction of Cannon Street and Queen Street.

Chief Inspector Steve Alison of City of London Police said:

“A woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service with potentially life-changing injuries. Investigations are ongoing.”

Fall from Height on Lower Thames Street

Just hours earlier, at 8.45pm on Wednesday 18 June, London Ambulance Service responded to reports of a person who had fallen from height on Lower Thames Street.

A LAS spokesperson stated:

“We sent resources including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer, as well as a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.”

“Our first paramedics arrived in under five minutes. We treated a man for injuries and transported him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Other Police Activity Near West Croydon

Earlier reports on 18 June also indicated police activity at the corner of North End and Tamworth Road, near West Croydon Station. Further details have not been disclosed, but witnesses report a police cordon in the area.


These incidents form part of a concerning spike in serious emergency callouts across London this week. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately.
