A woman has been hospitalised following a fire at an end-of-terrace house on Pipewell Road, Carshalton, this morning (September 19). The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to the scene at 10:46 AM, where four fire engines and 25 firefighters worked to tackle the blaze, which damaged half of the ground floor.

The woman was rescued from the building by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and was taken to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service. The extent of her injuries is currently unknown.
The fire was brought under control by 11:22 AM, just under 40 minutes after the LFB arrived. Crews from fire stations in Mitcham, Sutton, Wimbledon, and Twickenham attended the scene.
An LFB spokesperson confirmed that the cause of the fire is under investigation. Local authorities, including the Metropolitan Police, were also present to assist in the response.

The incident drew significant emergency services to the area, with the London Air Ambulance’s advanced trauma team also arriving at a nearby park, although their involvement has not been detailed.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
