Woman Fatally Injured and Man Taken to Hospital in Warwickshire

A woman has died, and a man was hospitalized following a serious two-car road traffic collision (RTC) in Warwickshire on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred at the junction of Mere Lane and Copston Lane in Wolvey, prompting a significant emergency response.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received the call at 6:13 p.m. and dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene. A BASICS doctor from East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

According to a spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service, the collision involved two cars, both of which sustained significant damage. Emergency services found two patients at the scene. The woman, who was driving one of the vehicles, was in critical condition when the crews arrived. Firefighters were already providing basic life support, and paramedics quickly began advanced life support measures. Despite their best efforts, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The second patient, a man who was driving the other vehicle, was treated for potentially serious injuries. He was transported by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further care.

The names of those involved have not been released, and no further details about the cause of the collision have been made available at this time.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, especially at rural junctions like Mere Lane and Copston Lane, which can be particularly hazardous.
