Woman Dies After Major 999 Response to Collision in Nunthorpe

A woman has sadly died following a serious collision on Cookgate, Nunthorpe, which triggered a huge emergency response on Wednesday, 7 May.

Emergency services, including police, firefighters, paramedics, and the Great North Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene shortly after 12.35pm following reports of a road traffic collision.

Photographs from the scene show a large police cordon around a cul-de-sac where the incident occurred, with multiple emergency vehicles present. Air ambulance teams, including a doctor and two paramedics, landed within minutes of being alerted.

Cleveland Police later confirmed the tragic news:

“A woman has sadly died following a collision on Cookgate in Nunthorpe on Wednesday 7 May.
Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

The victim’s family has requested privacy as they grieve their loss.

Investigations into the collision are ongoing, and Cookgate remains closed as officers continue to work at the scene.
