A woman has been charged with attempted murder following a suspected poisoning incident in Sussex, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Jilumol George, aged 38, residing at Hunters Way, Uckfield, was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of attempted murder, along with two counts of administering poison with the intent to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm.
The incident unfolded when police responded to a call at a property in Hunters Way, Uckfield, on Thursday. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 38-year-old woman and two children, aged nine and 13, inside the premises. All three individuals were promptly transported to a hospital for urgent medical treatment. Thankfully, they have since been discharged, albeit shaken by the ordeal.
George appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court earlier, where the charges were formally presented. She has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before a crown court on March 8.
