A woman has been charged with attempted murder in Torquay following a serious assault that left a man in his 30s with significant injuries. The incident, which occurred on January 9, prompted Devon and Cornwall Police to establish a cordon in the Castle Circus area of Torquay.
The victim sustained cuts to his back and head during the attack and was promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention. His condition is currently being closely monitored.
Devon and Cornwall Police have taken swift action in response to this alarming incident. Katie Rockett, a 28-year-old individual with no fixed abode, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. She is set to make her appearance before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 10.
In addition to Rockett, a man in his 20s from Torquay was also taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently under police supervision as the investigation continues.
