Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Halifax in which a child pedestrian was critically injured.
At 11:09am today, a PCSO on patrol came across the incident in King Cross Street.
A nine-year-old girl had been involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa while crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing near to the junction with Park Road while accompanied by an adult.
She has been taken to hospital for emergency treatment and is in critical condition.
A scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
