Wiltshire Police Cadet Leader Recognised for Outstanding Service

Ray Pattemore, a dedicated volunteer and retired police officer, has been honoured with a Certificate of Recognition for his exceptional service as the Chippenham Police Cadets leader. Presented by the Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) of Wiltshire Police, the award acknowledges Ray’s unwavering commitment and significant contributions to the community.

With a remarkable career spanning decades, Ray’s journey in serving the community began in the 1960s when he first joined the Police. Over the years, he has been actively involved with various youth groups, including the Red Cross Cadets and the Royal Navy Cadets, where he played pivotal roles in mentoring and guiding young individuals.

After retiring from active duty 19 years ago, Ray continued his passion for community service by joining the ambulance service and later the out-of-hours doctors’ service in Chippenham. In 2016, he took on the role of Chippenham Police Cadets leader, dedicating his time and energy to shaping the next generation of community-minded individuals.

Ray’s exemplary leadership and positive interactions with both cadets and the public have earned him widespread respect and admiration. His steadfast commitment to fostering public trust and confidence in law enforcement has not gone unnoticed.

Expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Ray emphasized the value of community service and encouraged others to consider joining the Police Cadets as a rewarding way to make a difference.

ACC Mark Cooper commended Ray for his outstanding dedication, noting his exceptional care for the welfare of cadets and his genuine passion for the role. He expressed appreciation for Ray’s invaluable contributions to Wiltshire Police and the communities they serve.

The Chippenham Police Cadets meet regularly every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm at a local school, offering young individuals an opportunity to engage with their community and develop valuable skills.
