Wigan Man Jailed For Non-recent Child Sexual Offences Following Victims’ Bravery

Glen Stone residing at Duncan Place, Wigan, has been sentenced to four years imprisonment at Minshull Street Crown Court today after being found guilty of non-recent child sexual offences, specifically indecent assault.

The court heard that Stone’s crimes unfolded during the 1970s and 80s, with his actions coming to light due to the remarkable bravery of his victims. Detective Constable Jenna Boyer, from Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan district, commended the courage and strength demonstrated by the victims throughout the legal process.

Stone is not only facing imprisonment but will also be required to sign the sex offenders’ register for life. Additionally, a restraining order has been issued for five years upon his release, emphasising the commitment to protecting the community from potential harm.

DC Jenna Boyer expressed gratitude towards the victims, stating, “Their strength in aiding us with this investigation has ensured that a dangerous man is now behind bars and away from children.” She further acknowledged the victims’ role in bringing Stone to justice and hoped that the sentencing provides them with some comfort.
