Updated: Whipps Cross Hospital Remains Closed And Have Declared A Major Incident Following The Hospital Being Flooded With 3 Foot Of Water And Losing Power

Whipps Cross Hospital has declared a  major incident due to flooding, a loss of power and backup generators. The site is closed to ambulances and the Urgent Treatment centre is also closed as the site has no power. Staff are working to restore the backup generators that have been flooded and have also failed.  Three wards are in danger of being flooded staff are moving patients to upper levels. the basement has been flooded and the hospital radio station studio has also been flooded. Firefighters from the London fire service have been called in to assist with pumping away flood water.
