West Midlands Police are urging the public to come forward with any information following a tragic incident early this morning in Yardley, where an 18-year-old man lost his life.
The accident occurred on Coventry Road, near the junction of Berkeley Road, shortly after 6:00 AM. A Hyundai i20 struck a tree, resulting in the death of the young man at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released, but police report that his family has been notified and are being supported during this incredibly difficult time.
Two other individuals were in the car at the time of the crash. One man sustained minor injuries, while another is still in the hospital with injuries that are serious but not considered life-threatening.
The section of Coventry Road where the accident took place is currently closed as investigations are carried out, though it is expected to reopen within a few hours.
