Watling Street in Dartford Shut Following Serious Early-Morning Crash

A major stretch of Watling Street remains closed this morning following a serious crash involving a car and a motorbike, which has led to significant traffic disruption near Darent Valley Hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 6:10am after receiving reports of a single-vehicle collision. Police officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service all responded to the incident.

Two people have been taken to a local hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.

The collision occurred on Watling Street eastbound, between Princes Road and Gore Road, with road closures in place since around 6am. The route remains shut, causing severe delays in the area.

A police source confirmed:

“We were called just before 6.10am on Thursday, 27 March to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Watling Street, Dartford. Emergency services attended and two people have been taken to hospital.”

 

Several bus routes, including the 96 and 428, are currently being diverted as a result of the closure.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.
