POLICE CHASE Stolen Van Crashes Into Lamppost After High-Speed Chase in Ore

Dramatic footage has emerged showing a stolen van smashing into a lamppost during a police chase in Ore, East Sussex.

Chase Ends in Crash

The police were first alerted to the stolen vehicle in Hastings early on Thursday morning, 3 October. Officers later spotted the van and tried to pull it over, but the driver sped off, sparking a tense pursuit through the locals.

The wild chase finally ended near London Road, Ore, around 3.30pm when the van smashed into a lamppost.

Suspects Flee but Are Quickly Caught

Witnesses saw the suspects bolt from the wreckage. However, police were on hand and swiftly arrested the two men, aged 21 and 22, nearby.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in Hastings at about 10am on October 3. The vehicle was later seen by officers, and crashed near London Road, Ore, at about 3.30pm. Two men aged 21 and 22 decamped but were swiftly arrested on suspicion of offences including dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle. They remain in custody at this time.”

No Injuries, Serious Damage

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the crash. The van, however, was badly damaged and has been recovered for further investigation.
