Victim Of Fatal Shooting In Battersea Identified As Police Appeal For Information

The victim of a fatal shooting in Battersea has been identified by police as detectives continue to appeal for information regarding the incident. The police were notified around 21.50 BST on Thursday, October 5, about gunshots heard on Shuttleworth Road, SW11. Upon arrival, officers and the London Ambulance Service found 21-year-old Rico Andrews injured. Despite their immediate efforts to provide emergency first aid, Andrews tragically died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialised officers. A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the investigation from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, expressed his condolences and called the incident a tragic event. He urged anyone who witnessed the events or captured the incident on phone or doorbell footage to come forward and contact the police immediately. Detectives are working diligently to gather as much information as possible, and no arrests have been made at this stage. The investigation is ongoing.
